Standard I
I. Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
a. Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
b. Engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources
c. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes
d. Model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments
Reflection:
The first projects that we did matched this standard. The lesson plan, presentation, and handout were done one a subject that we thought we would be teaching, or are currently teaching. All three were collaborated on with our team members. Our team was to look over the projects, and make adjustments and comments to make it better. We then made the corrections before posting. With the handout, I found that when collaborating you could do it in real time- watching the other person make corrections or suggestions as they did it. It would definitely be helpful for students working in groups that can't physically be together
Artifacts:
Lesson Plan
Presentation
Handout
Learning Goal:
I would like to further explore these activities and see how I can effectively use them in my medical classes. I can see that the presentation and handout would be useful for flipping the classroom.
