So, I made my first video and podcast. It was definitely out of my comfort zone, something I've never done before. The movie went better than I thought. I used Windows Movie Maker. I watched the tutorials several times before I figured out that the movie maker should already be on the computer, but wasn't on the computer I happened to be on. Once I got on the right computer, it worked much better. All I did was copy my power point, tweak it, and narrate it. I'm sure I could have done much fancier things with it, but since it was my first time I decided to do just the basics. I can definitely see a use for this application with the flipped classroom and hybrid courses. I felt like an idiot talking to myself though. My kids kept asking me who I was talking to and the dogs kept coming over to see what was going on. Here is the link to the movie:

The podcast was also easier than I anticipated. I was very grateful for all the tutorials posted on blackboard. I used audacity and liked how easy it was to edit out the dogs barking or my mistakes. At first I found it hard to find on the internet though- I ended up on a site that was apparently a fake audacity site intended to give you viruses. Honestly though, I can't imagine that I'd have a use for this application. I don't like to listen to someone talking without something to look at because my mind wanders too much, so I don't think I'd use this. I would more likely use the movie application.
